    FAQ: Analysis of Common Failures of Fuel Injection Pumps? Deformation and stagnation

    ERIKC Answer: For the old fuel injection pump, the cause of the jamming is mostly diesel oil is not clean, there is mechanical impurities between the plunger and the plunger sleeve, or the plunger and the plunger sleeve surface are strained, or the plunger top edge is bumped Caused by glitches. If the fitting of the fuel pump is too tight, the plunger sleeve and the pump body will be easily deformed, and when it is severe, it will be broken; or if it enters a foreign body due to improper assembly, there may be stuck phenomenon between the parts, or the engine oil may have water; Over-concentration of oil occurs in the winter, such as inflexible operation, resulting in the destruction of the governor's performance, and even the occurrence of engine stall and "speed" phenomenon, leading to complete destruction. Once the injection pump is deformed or broken, new parts must be replaced.

    For the new fuel injection pump, the reasons for the stagnation are: (1) When the fuel injection pump is commissioned, the selected diesel is unqualified, the colloid content is relatively large, and the acidity is high. After this adjustment, an oil film adheres to the mating surface of the precision coupling parts of the fuel injection pump. If the fuel pump is stored for a long time, this layer of oil film will gradually generate organic sludge and gel, which will cause seizure after installation. (2) Improper storage of fuel injection pump, lax packing, leakage or damage of moisture-proof and rust-proof materials, and damage or loss of dust caps of oil pipe joints may cause catch-up.

    Remedy: For the old fuel pump in use, the stuck plunger can be found and removed, cleaned with clean diesel. If the plunger couple is damaged by mechanical impurities, it can be cleaned with a clean oil. For stuck new injection pumps, you can inject proper amount of gasoline or diesel into the injection pump and governor, and repeatedly rotate the camshaft to move the ejector tappet and governor flyball freely, preventing corrosion and hairpins leading to diesel engines.
